5 Ways An Effective Blog Content Strategy Can Attract Audience and Customers

Creating a content strategy, following it, and improving it as time goes on is a much better idea than simply publishing articles in hopes they will perform well.

So, today I have prepared 5 ways of improving your content strategy in order to attract more visitors and convert them into customers as a result.

But before we delve into it, take a look at a list of the best backlink monitoring tools to help you out during your link building campaign.

Now, a quick question: what do your visitors see before they even enter your resource? That’s right, your headline.

Craft a Strong Headline

A good, eye-catching headline that drives users to click on your website is responsible for pretty much over half of your clicks coming from search engine results pages.

That’s why it is extremely important to focus on creating a headline that will grab your potential visitors’ attention and encourage them to go to your blog and not your competitor’s.

What a good headline needs to be is descriptive and engaging. For example, if you maintain a car blog, a pretty good headline for an article would sound something like “15 Tips and Tricks That Will Help You Get More Mileage Out of the Same Old Gas Tank”.

Focus on Longer-Form Content

The days of pumping out 500-word articles are over (ironic, huh?). Now, of course, that doesn’t mean that you can’t do it anymore, but it is simply more viable to aim for longer-form content for a number of reasons.

First of all, Google prefers longer articles and if they are over a couple of thousand words long, they will perform in search results pages.

Also, the longer it takes to read your article, the more time users spend on your page, and that is also an indication for Google that your content is of high-quality.

But of course, it takes more than just a big old block of text to engage with your audience. It needs to be in-depth too. So, naturally, it will take you longer to write a good article, but trust me, it is well worth it.

It will help you boost organic traffic and conversions at the same time.

Call-to-Actions Might Just Be the Nudge You Need to Convert

Call-to-action buttons might be a little bit of a double-edged sword if done incorrectly, but if you’re considerate about how you use them, you will soon notice yourself enjoying a pretty nice boost in conversions.

By dictionary definition, no advertisement or commercial is complete without a call-to-action of some sort, and that rule applies to blog posts as well.

Avoid using generic CTAs like “DOWNLOAD”, “BUY NOW’ or “SUBSCRIBE TO OUR EMAIL NEWSLETTER” and instead offer your users something like “Click here to get your free e-book”.

Also, don’t be afraid to A/B test your CTAs to figure out which ones work better for you and why. Experiment with the shape, color, and location on the page until you find the configuration that performs the best.

Guest Blogging Can Help You Grow Tremendously

The most commonly discussed benefit of guest blogging is none other than the backlinks you get. And while they are great to have, they shouldn’t be the primary reason to guest blog.

The most important thing about guest blogging is, of course, the fact that it gives you the much-needed exposure and helps you establish a bigger audience.

Of course, publishing quality content on your own page is great, but it can also be quite helpful to do it on other resources, especially ones that get more traffic than you.

Listicles Are Amazing

You’ve probably noticed that “Top 10” web pages dominate the top-3 results in Google. So, why not take advantage of it and write some of your own?

Do some research in your niche and find the biggest, baddest listicle you can find. Now, write your own one (you can even do it on the same topic), but better. In this case, more points means better. So, instead of that “Top 10”, create a “Top 15” of your own.

And, as always, make sure you’re only offering useful and accurate information. The rule is quality over quantity, but why limit yourself if you can have both?

OutreachMama is a great example of a website exploding from using listicles.

Focus on Creating Great Content

Since it’s the basis for any content strategy. Always give your articles your 100% and make sure you’re getting all of your information from respected resources.

This isn’t exactly a complete guide on crafting the ultimate content strategy, but I hope you learned something new from me today, and as always, good luck with all of your efforts.
